Transitioning in our Community – Meet Evan

Meet Evan. Evan enjoys being active by walking his dog, Jack, and singing in his chorus group. He loves Disney animated movies and comedies and is always ready to share his extensive trivia knowledge.  Evan and his family have been connected to Life Navigators for many years and are so grateful for the support they receive through our long-term care program.  As Evan was transitioning out of high school, he was connected to Project SEARCH.  Through this program, Evan was able to participate in job trainings to prepare him for working in our community.  His case manager, Sarah, helped guide him through the process and stayed connected throughout his training and skills development.

Evan has been employed at Children’s Community Health Plan for over three years.  In his role, he labels materials, files paperwork, assists with mailings and recently started data entry.  He enjoys learning new tasks and always walks in early and ready for his shift!  His work has helped him develop confidence in his social and communication skills by being active in the community.  He often participates in office activities and employee appreciation events by helping decorate for the holidays.  Last year, Evan was even voted one of the best Halloween costumes by dressing up as Willie Wonka!

Your investment will provide impactful services to Evan and many others.  Through your generosity, individuals with disabilities will have the support network to successfully live, work and volunteer in our community.  Thank you for supporting the kids and adults with disabilities that we so proudly serve.
